Milano Malpensa Cargo has been certified by IATA as a “Live” airport in the E-Freight project. This means couriers using Malpensa can opt to use paperless delivery for many destinations, while new “trade lanes” will be added in the near future with the collaboration of airlines, couriers, airport handlers and airport customs authorities.Malpensa Smart City for air cargo
SEA has teamed up with the National Association of Air Cargo Agents (ANAMA) and Assohandler, with support from the region of Lombardy, to develop an IT platform for Malpensa airport clients. The platform provides users with a series of IT services which transform the Malpensa Cargo City into a veritable Smart City. Through the system, couriers and handlers can share information on outbound freight (thus preventing errors and duplicates), track the status of inbound or outbound freight, book a “time window” for unloading trucks and access a whole series of information and added functions to benefit their business.
The system is available completely free of charge to all professional operators in the sector, who can connect via their own IT systems or through a portal which enables them to manually insert their information.
